A Boyne City High School junior is among 91 high school and college students statewide to receive 2019 Breaking Traditions Awards for overcoming obstacles and stereotypes to succeed in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) announced Thursday. 

In Grand Traverse Academy’s Sustainable Ecology course students worked in groups designing various aquaponics systems through project-based learning by planning their own systems, revising old systems, and building the project themselves. Click here to learn more.
